California and electronics were top targets for January 10 cargo theft Five incidents were recorded from January 10 cargo theft reports, two more than the week prior. Thirteen additional cargo theft incidents from 12/21-12/27 were received this week by CargoNet.  The majority of thefts occurred on Christmas Eve and Tuesday the 27th. California was the targeted hot spot of the week with five reported thefts.  Sixty percent of the cargo stolen was electronics.

Food and beverage was the hottest commodity for December 21-27 cargo theft Three incidents were recorded in the December 21-27 cargo theft report, nine less than the prior week. Seven additional incidents from 12/13-12/20 were received this week by CargoNet.   All of the events were categorized as thefts and the majority occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday 12/20-21. Illinois and Texas were this week’s top cargo theft trouble spots with two reported incidents each. 

Tractors most targeted commodity in December 14-20 cargo theft report Eleven incidents were recorded in the December 14-20 cargo theft report, three less than the prior week. Four additional incidents from 12/6-12/13 were received this week by CargoNet, all of the events were categorized as thefts.
